MTV Cribs is Due Next Week by wreck-photography MTV Cribs is Due Next Week by wreck-photography
Check out my sweet sitting room! Double cassette player!!! :D

Been a little bit since ive uploaded anything. That will change very shortly :P

Finaly went on our trip to West Park Asylum in Surrey, was a great day, though very tiring. I think we were in there about 5 hours and only saw about half.

This was already like this when we found it. Made me chuckle. Someone had far too much time on there hands!

HDR panoramic of corse! 17 photo stitch with 3 exposures per photo. A total of 51 photos.

Camera is panasonic FZ50. No Wide angle use. I did so many photos because i wanted more deph.

thanks :D There will be more coming!

AMAZING!!

I have a question though, when doing panoramics as i have done them before... Do you start from left to right, 3 auto brackets in AF(apeture) per photo?

I dont think it makes much difference which direction you shot pano's in... With my new camera i always shoot in manual mode (canon 550d) because you cant lock the exposure. You need to keep the exposures all the same otherwise it will be harder to stitch.

Hope thats some help

To take the pic? maybe 2 mins. To get into the place we had to crawl through underground tunnels for about 40mins. HAha good times!

I mean to sort of process and stitch it all together, 40 mins of crawling through tunnels, wow, good result though. So why did you have to travel underground,i gather it was the only way to get there, nice work man!

Yeah, it was all really boarded up but we managed to find a vent type thing underground. Processing took a while. My computer is quite vintage... maybe an hours our so from start to finish.

Thanks very much!

good stuff man, urbex is the way,
haha thats so cool that you burrowed up in,the derelict places round my area dont pose as much of a challenge but i guess thats actually a good thing in certain situations, how many of you went in? do you take anything for defense against certain types that you find in these places?

No worries man,keep it up:)

2 of us went in... We dont take any defense, we havent seen anyone else apart from security. I guess if you start taking defense and you get caught and searched you might have more chance of getting the police called. Supposedly Tresspassing the police dont really get involved with, its up to the landowner to deal with it (at least thats what i have read). We have been caught once and asked to leave. He was fairly nice about it. I have heard of people getting memory cards wiped but thats about the worst of it. You thinking of going? Its definatly worth the effort

Delayed reply to your msg mate, sorry,
I didnt mean anything to serious just like a good solid tripod or perhaps a good mag light. I was just asking as i have been wanting to do some exploration myself, so was just wondering if you got about it ok.
Im from Tasmania Australia so not quite as many awesome places scattered about but i am starting to find a few!
I found a place which actually looks pretty similar to your shot just not panoramic, not sure how to go about that. This place was inhabited possibly hours before i arrived,it worried me a bit due to the empty turps bottles lying about,

A lot of the places we go are boarded up with heavy security so there isnt to much worry about druggies etc being there. It is a worry though, the last thing you want is to be mugged.

I always take a tripod (for HDR) but a maglight is always going to come in handy. The other thing really is just take your common sense. Some of the places can be very rotten and falling down around you. Dont take any risks. Saying that you should be fine. Its great to capture something before its gone forever :)

You see. 5 hours are not enough... We should live there in other to mimetize ourselves with the place and literally be the place!
